Senior Engineer, Supplier Quality

We’re looking to add a Senior Engineer, Supplier Quality in Singapore. The position will be based in our GES Site in Marsiling.

As a Senior Engineer, Supplier Quality, you will:

Responsible for managing Supplier Quality for the assigned customer account. This role involves handling the Non-Conforming Material (NCMR) process and collaborating with suppliers on containment, root cause analysis, and corrective actions. Work closely with the customer’s Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) on reporting requirements and participate in joint supplier audits.

The key responsibilities are as below: 

Supplier Quality Issues Resolution

  • Review and approve line rejects attributed to ‘Material’.
  • Direct the Assistant Engineer on the NCMR process and manage the inventory in MRB (SAP location MB30).
  • Inform the Supplier’s Quality representative of the ‘Material’ issue and initiate an investigation.
  • Coordinate containment activities (alert, purge, screening), return of problematic ‘Material’ parts (RMA) to the supplier for investigation, issuance of failure analysis request (FA) or supplier corrective action request (SCAR), and ensure timely supplier actions to avoid production line disruptions.
  • Escalate issues to the customer (CMO escalation) as appropriate, and provide progress updates in the weekly quality meeting with the customer and monthly technical review meeting.

Supplier Quality Performance Monitoring, Audit, and Improvement

  • Analyze Supplier quality performance data (incoming lot acceptance rate, production acceptance rate, SCAR, SCAR response timeliness, CMO escalation tier) annually to identify suppliers for close monitoring.
  • Jointly select suppliers for audit based on risk level, schedule, perform the audit, report results, and follow up to close audit findings.
  • Conduct supplier audits as needed for Supplier Change of Manufacturing location based on risk assessment.
  • Provide monthly Supplier performance updates in technical review meetings and quarterly updates to the customer smart-sheet and corporate global supply base management (GSBM).

Supplier Part First Article Qualification

  • Review and approve the supplier’s first article submission in the eFAQ portal. This includes generating the inspection checklist for IQA inspector/technician, and coordinating part measurement and results reporting. For safety-critical parts, review and update the inspection text in SAP for IQA.
  • Submit reports and details requested in the SPQP to the customer as required.

Other Quality Activities Involvement

  • Actively participate in projects to achieve improvement objectives.
  • Assist in management system audits by certification bodies (ISO9001, ISO13485, ISO14001) or by customers (ISO13485).

What skills and experiences are we looking for?

  • Degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics Engineering, and/or equivalent field.  
  • At least 5 years of experience in Supplier Quality. 
  • Experience working in Manufacturing, preferably in the manufacturing of Box Build and PCBA for Life Science instruments.
  • Familiarity with the manufacturing process steps and controls of Mechanical parts (Sheet metal, Machined parts, Castings, Plastics, Rubber).
  • Ability to interpret Technical Drawings, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) requirements.
  • Familiarity with Quality Metrology Equipment (CMM, VMM, Vernier Caliper, Micrometer).
  • Familiarity with Quality System requirements (ISO13485 and FDA QMSR for Medical Devices).
  • Independent self-starter with an analytical mindset and strong collaborative skills to guide suppliers towards optimal performance and achieve organizational goals.
