We’re looking to add a Manager, Purchasing in Singapore. The position will be based in our GES Site in Marsiling.

As a Manager, Purchasing, you will:

Responsible for overseeing all direct and indirect purchasing activities to ensure a continuous supply of materials for production. This role involves managing a team of Buyers for assigned customers and commodities, improving process productivity and efficiency through continuous improvement activities, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve departmental goals. The Purchasing Manager works directly with suppliers to ensure supply assurance and improve cost, quality, and on-time deliveries. Additionally, this role involves reviewing all material requirements against sales forecasts and inventory with internal and external parties to meet company goals.

The key responsibilities are as below: 

• Ensure the company meets its inventory targets by collaborating with stakeholders, including TCS, planning, production, warehouse, and purchasing.
• Review and track cost reduction efforts, driving the team, TCS, GSBM, and Purchasing towards achieving internal and customer cost reduction targets.
• Serve as the escalation point for purchasing to resolve material issues and manage suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and quality parts for production.
• Review, guide, and approve purchasing procedures while delegating tasks, objectives, and projects to subordinates.
• Perform supplier scorecards jointly with the Quality Department and work with Buyers to improve supplier scores as necessary.
• Provide guidance and coaching to the purchasing team.
• Manage Buyers to provide weekly feedback on plan buy to TCS and the commodity team for action and closure.
• Ensure purchasing procedures, processes, and practices comply with ISO 9001, 13485, 14001, FDA 21 CFR Part 820 QSR, EICC, regulatory, and safety agencies.
• Participate in any other purchasing improvement projects as assigned.

What skills and experiences are we looking for?

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration, and/or equivalent experience.
• 10 years of experience in Manufacturing Operations or 8 years in a Purchasing Environment with at least 2 years in a managerial position.
• Basic technical knowledge, management skills, and a clear understanding of manufacturing operations.
• Good communication and negotiation skills are essential to maintain integrity in high-communication environments with external parties.
• Ability to work under pressure and maintain a positive attitude and thinking.
• Proficiency in MS Office
